Our GMHS softball team had an amazing year. They opened the season with a couple of wins at the Boulder tournament at Fairview High School. They also beat their rivals at Stanley lake with a 7-2 score. But with the season’s end, I decided to interview a senior member of the softball team, Kylie Brockmire. Kylie has played softball all 4 years of high school, but her softball career began when she was around five years old.
I asked her about the dynamics of the games. She said, “The games were super fun and exciting, and the team always carried amazing energy”. She also said that they played some tough teams, but both JV and Varsity did an amazing job. Another thing that Kylie mentioned was the number of freshmen that joined the team this year. She stated, “The new freshmen are super promising for the future of the team”.
The team captains of the 2022-2023 season were Erin Ransom, Avery Elliot, and Kylie Brockmire. Katelyn Horner deserves an honorable mention because she had a bad break in her hand that put her out for the rest of the season. The team ended the season with a bang, taking a win against Jefferson High School with an ending score of 13-0.
